The Children's Dental Care Center at Brooker Memorial provides dental care services to children who live in Litchfield County and who are insured by the state of Connecticut Husky A, B and Title 19 plans OR who have no dental insurance at all. The Dental Center also provides dental care for pregnant women enrolled in the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program, and post-natal care up to 6 weeks post-partum. Infants should receive their first dental care appointment at one year of age or when their first tooth emerges. The Dental Center is a proud participant in the State Department of Dental Health's Home by One program, which encourages all parents to establish a dental office relationship for their infant by the age of one year, when critical preventive oral care begins. Brooker's dental staff is well-equipped to educate both children and adults on the necessity of good oral hygiene pre-natally and throughout childhood, to prevent oral complications and emergencies.

Brooker Memorial's staff of registered dental hygienists and licensed dentists provide both preventive and restorative dentistry in our clean and bright professional medical environment. Click here to meet our staff.. Through a partnership with the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, a Spanish-speaking pediatric dentist is on staff at the center two days each week. Our dental center serves:

• Children from Litchfield County up to their 20 birthday
• Infants at age 1 or when their first tooth emerges
• Elementary school children in the Region One schools
• Elementary and Middle school children in the Torrington schools
• Pregnant women enrolled in WIC (see above)

We provide free children's dental screenings and educational programs on request to community organizations, clubs and schools. Ask about our "world famous" puppet show!
