Grandparent Group On Addiction Issues

The McCall Center for Behavioral Health will be providing a program on Addiction Issues for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren and other Kin Raising Kin at no cost to participants. The program is made possible through a grant from the Western CT Area Agency on Aging. Participants will explore their needs, emotions and self- care as they raise a child whose parent(s) are struggling with addiction. They will also learn how to create a plan to help the child better understand and cope with the complicated emotions that accompany being a family member of someone with this disease. Meetings will be held at Brooker Memorial on alternate Tuesday evenings beginning August 20th from 5:30 to 7 pm for 8 sessions. Baby-sitting and a light supper will be provided.
