Volunteer Opportunities – September 2019
Child Care Center: Nurse
Child care licensing requires a “paid or a volunteer” registered nurse to visit the center weekly.
Duties include:
Weekly 30 – 60 minute visits to the center for observation of children and environments, review of medical care plans, immunizations and center policies (annual review). Standardized forms and guidelines are in place. Availability to consult with staff about specific problems and act as a resource person to staff and parents as needed. (typically 2-3 x per year)
This volunteer position can be shared by two nurses with each covering every other week and communicating with one another periodically.

Flower Gardener
We are looking for a knowledgeable volunteer to maintain our beautiful flower gardens.
Duties include:
Preparing gardens in the spring (new plantings, splitting perennials as needed), fertilizing.
Watering 3-4x per week or as needed, weeding and deadheading.
Fall maintenance of gardens.
